Oil-wellThe people of Akuku-Toru local government area of Rivers State have pleaded with the President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), to help them recover their Soku oil wells, which were ceded to Bayelsa State by the administration of the out-going President Goodluck Jonathan.

Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the local government, Chief Fenibo Jack, in a statement issued in Abonnema, headquarters of the council, expressed the hope that the oil wells, which pitched Governor Rotimi Amaechi against President Jonathan, would be returned to Rivers, if the matter is judiciously looked into.

Jack said, “We appeal to you to look into the unresolved issue of our oil Well in Soku, wrongly ceded to Bayelsa state. We believe that the matter will be judiciously looked into and oil Well returned to us”.
