The President of Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) Mrs Funke Egbemode, on Wednesday, said Rivers was one of the most safest states in Nigeria.
“Rivers is a hub of activities. Rivers is safe for businesses and conferences, as it is currently hosting hundreds of editors and bishops.
“This is the first time a state will be hosting the Editors Conference back to back.’’
Egbemode said the editors returned to the state, after the 2016 ANEC, because they were comfortable, felt safe and felt at home.
In appreciation, Gov. Wike said Rivers was happy to host the editors for two consecutive years.
He urged them to remain committed to professionalism, adding that as watchdogs of the society, editors should help in the dissemination of information that would promote development.
