The Rivers State Police Command has issued directives for the deployment of officers across the state to ensure heightened security during the Easter festivities.
In a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, the state Police Commissioner, Olatunji Disu, instructed all Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders, and Divisional Police Officers to deploy personnel and allocate resources to key locations, including churches, parks, event centers, and major entry and exit points in the state.
The statement emphasized that officers stationed on highways have been directed to maintain a heightened level of vigilance and professionalism while carrying out their duties.
Commissioner Disu extended Easter greetings to the residents of Rivers State, particularly Christians, urging them to pray for divine protection and peace in the region.
The Command also issued advisories to religious and traditional leaders, as well as parents and guardians, to counsel their followers and children against engaging in any form of unlawful activities during the celebrations.
