After a successful box office outing, and Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award wins, Ishaya Bako’s “Road to Yesterday,” is set to stream on Netflix.
The movie which had a Lagos, Abuja and Enugu premiere, and made an Africa Magic Showcase debut in February, will debut on streaming site on July 1, 2016.
Genevieve Nnaji who starred and produced the movie took to Instagram to share the news with her followers.
“The perfect#netflixandchill movie #roadtoyesterday #July1,” she wrote.
“Road to Yesterday” stars Nigerian-British actor, Oris Erhuerho as ‘Izu’ the burly husband and father, and Nnaji as ‘Victoria’ the conflicted wife and mother.
The movie also stars Majid Micheal, Chigul, Deyemi Okanlawon, Meg Otanwa among others.
Set in Lagos Nigeria, Road to Yesterday is an epic love story, about a couple desperate to mend its marriage on a road trip to a relative’s funeral.
However when memories and secrets from the past are revealed, a lot more is at stake than their relationship.
The 2015 movie is produced by Nnaji alongside Chinny Onwugbenu and Chichi Nwoko. Directed by Ishaya Bako, story is by Genevieve Nnaji, who also serves as executive producer alongside Chinny Onwugbenu.
“Road to Yesterday” premiered in Nigeria on November 18, 2015, and received multiple nominations for the 2016 AMVCAs.
