Following Dolphins Football Club of Port Harcourt expulsion from the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF), 2015 Confirmation cup competition, the Rivers State Commissioner of Sports, Hon. Fred Igwe has set up a five man committee to investigate and determine the direct causes of Dolphins expulsion and its inability to honour its match against club African in Tunisia on Saturday, 14th March, 2015.
Dolphins was expelled from the CAF competition on Thursday 19th March 2015 by the Interclub organizing committee of CAF, after it appealed for CAFs intervention to replay its match against club African, which the referee ruled as a work over awarding a 3-0 win against Dolphins because of its late arrival at the Stadium in Tunis.
The sports Commissioner while inaugurating the committee in his office on Friday, 20 March 2015, charged them to recommend appropriate disciplinary measures for those found culpable.
‘’You shall also recommend appropriate measures to forestall future reoccurrence, submit such recommendation by Tuesday 26th March 2015, he said.
The committee is headed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Sir Michael Nnodi .
Other members include, the Rivers State Football Federation, Vice Chairman, Chief Wile, Mr. Chris Odogu of the Nigeria Police Force, Dr. Solomon Chuwai and Mrs. Ebere Dennis Emenike the Director of Administration, Ministry of Sports.
