Security agencies in Plateau State have recovered a stolen vehicle belonging to a United Nations (UN) staffer who was abducted by gunmen in Jos North Local Government Area.
The victim, identified as 45-year-old Emmanuel Yusuf Sabo, was kidnapped around 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, while returning home from work along Godwin Street in the State Low-Cost area of Jos North.
According to security sources, Sabo, an employee of the UN Office in Jos, was forcibly taken by unidentified armed men, prompting concern among his family members and local authorities.

His younger brother, Mr. Ezekiel Sabo of Angwan Rukuba, reported the incident to the police early Sunday morning at about 7:00 a.m.
“After receiving the report, the Command Control Room quickly alerted all patrol teams and security posts across the state,” a police source confirmed.
Following the alert, police operatives on patrol intercepted the victim’s vehicle at approximately 3:40 a.m. in Manguna, Bokkos Local Government Area.
According to a police report, the suspected kidnapper abandoned the stolen vehicle upon sighting the security team and fled the scene. Efforts are currently underway to apprehend the suspect and locate the abducted UN official.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing, and security personnel have intensified operations to ensure the safe return of the victim.
