Senate President Godswill Akpabio has refuted claims that he was part of the “Saraki Senate.”
Responding to remarks made by Senator Ali Ndume during a Senate session addressing security challenges in the country, Akpabio clarified his position.
Senator Ndume, representing Borno South, reminded Akpabio of his involvement in the Saraki Senate, noting his role as Minority Leader.

Ndume highlighted the need for security agencies to be equipped, trained, and motivated to effectively tackle security challenges.
In response, Akpabio interjected, stating that he was part of the Nigerian Senate, not specifically Saraki’s Senate.
He expressed reluctance to be associated with the alleged mismanagement of constituency project funds, referring to the reported 40% allocation and unresolved payment issues.
The reference to the “Saraki Senate” pertains to the tenure of Senator Bukola Saraki as Senate President during the first term of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
