SHAKER Plays Key Role in Talent Board's 2014 Candidate Experience Awards as Silver Sponsor

CLEVELAND, OH–(Marketwired – Aug 5, 2014) – SHAKER, the market leader in custom simulations for pre-employment testing, today announced it has partnered with Talent Board, a non-profit organization focused on the elevation and promotion of a quality candidate experience, to support the organization’s 2014 Candidate Experience (CandE) Awards as a Silver Sponsor for the second consecutive year.

The CandE Awards is an annual benchmarking and recognition program that evaluates the recruiting processes of participating employers with the goal of identifying, celebrating and raising awareness of the practices that result in an outstanding experience for job candidates. Now in its fourth year, the CandE Awards continues to grow rapidly, with more than 170 companies registered to participate in the 2014 North American program and find out how they can improve the way they engage and interact with their candidates.

As a program sponsor, SHAKER shows its support of Talent Board’s mission to identify and celebrate the companies that provide their job applicants with a positive, insightful and transparent candidate experience. SHAKER is dedicated to helping employers deliver a stellar candidate experience and advocates its role in engaging the right talent and improving the employer brand. Through its innovative Virtual Job Tryout®, the industry-leading custom hiring simulation, SHAKER enables candidates to ‘test drive’ the position for which they applied and perform a series of exercises that mirror key job demands. As a result, the company’s clients deliver an enhanced candidate experience, enabling candidates to showcase their skills while learning more about the employer and its culture.

In addition to serving as a Silver Sponsor of the awards program, Joseph P. Murphy, executive vice president of SHAKER, has played a key role in the success of the program. Leveraging his extensive experience in HR and employee selection, Murphy leads the committee responsible for developing the Candidate Experience Award survey. Talent Board uses both company and candidate response data to determine winners of the CandE Awards. Murphy has also been a contributing author to Talent Board’s annual Candidate Experience report, which details important findings from the study.

“The Candidate Experience Awards has been instrumental in spurring more organizations to take a deep look at their recruiting, hiring and onboarding processes. As a result, they can see what they are doing right — and where improvements can be made,” said Murphy. “SHAKER is excited to work with Talent Board once again to help identify excellence in candidate experience and recognize the companies that set the bar for their peers.”

“Year after year, the Candidate Experience Awards offer significant insight into the state of recruiting and expectations for candidate experience from both employers and jobseekers. Last year’s research shows that employers are taking steps to communicate more effectively with candidates and provide a more positive experience. As awareness continues to grow, and employers are armed with a better understanding of what candidates value during the recruiting process, Talent Board anticipates that the 2014 CandE Awards will show increased innovation and improvement among participating employers,” said Elaine Orler, Talent Board co-founder and chairman, and CEO of Talent Function.
