Former lawmaker Shehu Sani, who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial Zone, has accused former Governor Nasir El-Rufai of marginalizing the Southern Kaduna people during his eight-year tenure.
Speaking at a Sallah dinner with family and friends, Sani reacted to allegations that El-Rufai’s administration diverted N423 billion in state funds.
Sani stated, “The Southern Kaduna people fought El-Rufai’s government to a standstill and never compromised, while the people of Zone two and three were busy applauding him even when he was stealing their monies with his cronies.”

He criticized El-Rufai for neglecting Southern Kaduna and failing to include them in the state’s governance.
Sani urged the public to support the State House of Assembly Ad’hoc committee investigating the alleged diversion of funds.
He emphasized the importance of backing the committee’s efforts to conduct a thorough investigation, adding, “When they speak, people would say it was Governor Uba Sani that signed the loan.
When he signed the loan, did he say the money should be stolen?”
He highlighted the significance of the investigation, noting that without it, residents of Kaduna State would not have known about the alleged theft of their money.
Sani also pointed out the hardships faced by the people of Kaduna State despite the substantial loans taken, including the demolition of homes and the mass sacking of civil servants.
Sani concluded by stating that the fight against corruption is not just for the state government but for all citizens of Kaduna State.
