Peller’s defection to the PDP was announced on Thursday during an event held in his hometown of Iseyin.
Peller, who previously represented the Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Iwajowa/Kajola federal constituency in the House of Representatives from 2019 to 2023, was warmly received into the PDP fold.

The event was attended by state officials, including Governor Engineer Seyi Makinde, represented by his Deputy, Abdulraheem Bayo Lawal.
Governor Makinde, speaking at the event, expressed confidence in the strength and unity of the PDP in Oyo State.
He emphasized the party’s commitment to winning the forthcoming local government elections, citing the government’s people-oriented programs as a driving force behind their success.
Makinde urged PDP members, particularly in Oke-Ogun and Ogbomoso, to embrace and support the defectors, emphasizing the need for unity within the party.
He assured Peller and his followers that joining the PDP would be beneficial, promising that they would not regret their decision.
The governor emphasized the importance of seeking opportunities where they are available, highlighting the PDP as the party that empowers the people.
He concluded by affirming that the PDP in Oyo State is open to all and urged everyone to work together to strengthen the party and achieve their collective goals.
