Ekiti-State-Governor-Ayodele-Fayose-wore-shorts-to-2016-budget-signing-2The Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, will never cease to amaze the public and Ekiti people as he wore shorts yesterday to the signing event of the state’s 2016 budget.

Ekiti-State-Governor-Ayodele-Fayose-wore-shorts-to-2016-budget-signing-3The governor had attracted criticisms last week when he appeared before the State House of Assembly to defend the proposed N67bn Ekiti State 2016 Budget, as he brought out a gavel and symbolically “passed” the budget into law after presenting the proposal to lawmakers.

Fayose was also criticized for his choice of dressing. He wore T-shirt and jeans, which critics say diminishes the office he occupies. However, he was unfazed and apparently wanted to give his critics more things to talk about. He decided to wear shorts.

They said I was not properly dressed last week,I wearing short knickers to sign d budget. They should keep talking. pic.twitter.com/mZgj6caHNa

Pls get the point right! politics or no politics, if you are going to office it is incumbent on you to dress officially, the dress is not appropriate for official duty period and simple. It will shock you to know that his dressing is politics in itself and may not be as cheap as some of us may think but that’s none of my business. But I employ everyone to think right Always. I am a Nigerian from Ekiti State I stand by nobody but by what is right

Gov Ayo Fayose is my role model…Say what u like it never changes his realness

    3. dyna on Apr 28, 2017 12:03 pm

I commend Ekiti State assembly for disregarding their governor”s outfit to present his 2016 budget. I wish it is Ekiti State Assembly to screen CG customs. There should have been no controversies. However, how would you judge Fayose if he is to pay a courtesy visit to Oni of Ife or Emir of Kano Lamido Sunusi? Or to attend 36 governor”s meeting in Abuja? Or even to be among Presidential entourage to overseas trip such as UN ,AU, or even ECOWAS meetings? God bless Ekiti State assembly for been tolerant to Fayose”s conduct

    4. jossy on Feb 11, 2017 3:20 am

What will Gov Fayose not do that pple will not talk? Be kareful not to abuse dignitaries.
Democracy is not abt what u wear but the dividend delivered to the pple. This austerity does not permit Gov Ayo to wear Agbada to work bcos any tyme he will put his hand to the plough. Go On My amiable Gobinor

I wish every1 would appreciate Gov.Fayose’s simplicity, i love him for his ideology the more. Mr. Governor, Carryon!

    6. Gladys on Feb 3, 2017 11:56 am

These are the kind of people we need in our generation. What has clothing got to do with what is happening to the Ekitis and Nigerians now? Would anybody want to look dirty or underdressed? If Mechanics were not wearing dirty clothes, who would have been fixing our cars? If Traders (example butchers) were not smelling, how would meat and other food stuff be supplied, etc.? But one thing is certain, no matter how they look, they put food on the table for their families at the end of the day and solve other people’s problems. We should be talking about what Fayose is doing towards the solution of the problems people are facing and not his clothing. After all Adam did not know what clothing is until he committed sin in the Garden of Eden. So Good clothing and appearance is deceit. Whether you wear designers or rags, what matters is your service to humanity. You are my kind of spirited person. ABI NA GOOD CLOTHING BE EKITI STATE PROBLEM? Carry on Baba Fayose! I dey your side.

    7. Fem Jay on Feb 2, 2017 2:12 pm

Dressing code or not.. in my opinion, I think fashion has to do with your mood and that is how even your oversize cloth size you best. by dway, the person in question is a domestic human like everyone who understand and been intellectual about what he does publicly without allowing others opinion influence his attribute.. His personal life we care but the end result of the office He occupied is what matters and optimum the state.

    8. Koledoye on Jan 31, 2017 1:56 pm

Ayo Fayose, to me, for now, is a savior. He might have embezzled money. I don’t care. What I apprciate in him is the way and manner he has been in the defense of his people despite intimidation from the Presidency. No body has been able to cage him.

His using his hand to write not his cloths. Let him be we have lots of problem in Nigeria I wonder why his dress is the one to solve first.

    11. Adeoye Ayodele on Jul 13, 2016 3:03 pm

Fayose, Whats all these comment about? Do you know u are adressed the way you dress. If U are representing Ekiti state that is regarded as the citadel of knowledge.I dont think Fayose need to be too casual. Let Ekiti people be respected.

    12. Francis Oluyemi on Jun 6, 2016 5:25 am

Why all these fuse about Governor Fayose…….His dressing, careless and gullible speeches , his attacks on the President and all what have you!!! at least the Ekiti people decided what they wanted and got it. “Ekiti ti gbe omi wo, won tun gbe epo wo” Ride on joo governor Fayose of Ekiti State.

    13. ENAHOROS on Jun 4, 2016 6:24 am

Nigerians should learn how to communicate on social media
Social media is where well thinking brains share ideas and not where or a place where you curse and insult yourselves don’t forget the world is reading and watching your comments
Honestly is a shame on you guys.

    18. Chief. Uzoamaka Onuegbu Angus (former Gov. Candidate ACPN. Imo 2015 on May 6, 2016 12:49 pm

Yeah, i have read your several comments on Governor Peter Fayose dressing on the States Budget signing day. He is not infallible, just like any of us, but it beats my imagination, it also seems that an average Nigeria, in Churh or mosque, pretends to be worshipping God Almighty. How?, the truth from all survey research, is that we must jettison physical appearances of wealth and highly placed corrupted uninionis in determining followership, though neatness matters a lot in both public and private spheres of life. Here, Fayose was not in rags anyway. But my observation is that” If we can pik 10 men of valor in the likes of Fayose, from PDP, APC, ACPN,(my Political party) and others, then the real expected Change, has arrived.(am not saying he should abuse or neglect office of our God Sent President)

    19. Eze on May 6, 2016 6:59 am

Gov. Fayose is believes in originality. This is a man that does not know how to pretend as every politician do. May God blessed and draw him more to Himself for the sake of heaven which is the ultimate.

    20. Famous G. Julius on May 4, 2016 3:11 pm

Some school of thoughts believes that what you wear is what you are, that is not true in all cases. socially, you can dress to make others happy and you are not comfortable with what you put on. Fayose is a human being like us, what the big deal in him dressing simple based on how he feels. Lets stop the mentality that is when you sweat much that shows you are working or when u dress politely that shows you are serious.

    21. ify on Apr 25, 2016 7:54 am

I love this man as day passes, I think i am beginning to see him as my best candidate for our next presidency, he is not a hypocrite, he is a real man. Please sir wear what ever you want to wear and let Ekiti state be good

    22. Okodugha Okodugha on Apr 23, 2016 9:29 pm

I holistically concur with @ Charles. Fayose is better than APC change!

    23. charles on Apr 12, 2016 4:47 pm

      Charles
I don’t care about what Fayose wears, what I care about is how much dividend of democracy he can delivery to Ekiti people. I strongly believe he is doing that as the people voted him back to office based on his track record.

Only FOOLS love governors who are fashion minded but has nothing to offer to them who voted for them.

I think Fayose is the Government Ekiti people need at this time.

Please note, I am not from Ekiti, but I have followed his performance long before now.

      Thank you.

    24. kudu on Apr 8, 2016 11:47 pm

Well, everyone is entitle to his or her opinion. Decency is a good omen and so ur dressing speaks more of ur decency. God save us and put us on the right direction.

      • Ochuko on Apr 9, 2016 9:06 pm

Why are we so concerned about whether somebody wears trousers or shouts? They make no difference. We are just prisoners of our parochial mindset. What were whites wearing when they were rulers of Nigeria between 1900 and 1960. What were our policemen and soldiers wearing 60-70years ago? SHORTS! SHORTS! SHORTS! These people wore shorts and it didn’t diminish there offices or reduced the performance of their duties. Now we have to dress like prisoners putting on all these heavy clothes like jacket, tie, coat, etc and by such become sophisticated criminals like those bankers of 1990-2009 who dressed so powerfully corporate and looted or O.B.T. depositors funds through every conceivable means possible while deceiving the public with their ‘responsible’ corporate appearances. FAYOSE CARRY GO. NA YOU BIKO.

    25. Marvel on Apr 7, 2016 9:32 am

No matter how much u defend govr fayose, there’s required standard moral behaviour expected from occupants of high ranking office anywhere in the world b it America, Europe, Asia or Africa, hw will u rate an M.D of a big conglomerate dressing in short n polo to chairs board meeting in A.G.M, I bet it can be imagined. U accept it or not govr fayose behaviour is highly questionable n unbecoming of a V.I.P in such high ranking office, no matter what decency n modesty should guide his utterances n appearance particularly in important events such as budget presentation or ceremony.. Hope he’s not overdose on drugs

    26. @TONY E on Apr 7, 2016 9:01 am

Best governor Nigeria ever ve no noncess man,he gives his people what dey want and what dey need,so nobody should ever talk bad about him,his a man of year

    27. toks on Apr 4, 2016 2:33 pm

Fayose is now seen as a very good man who takes care of his pple. I want to remind those who are hailing as a hero of our time and Nigerian in general that the same fayose spent more than 2 billion naira ekiti money to operate a poultry. Pple should thinks twice. My advice to fayose in all these is that he should be careful and guard his utterances because the drum thats sound recklessly ll soon burst.

    28. Raj Succx on Mar 31, 2016 11:19 am

hummnnnnn, people had said a lot,but there is something I personally believe, i.e putin on Agbada, buba ,danshiki, shirt and plain trousers, jeans and polo, etc does not mean the fellow did not dress responsible. But check it in other way round ,why should a reasonable person put on Agbada ? why sud someone put on a suit or jeans and trousers, likewise some preferred wearing shorts & shirts ,as others preffered Agbada and buba for a presentation.u put on what u wish, except if there is a code or mode of dressing,if there is not,so why cant u dress the way its match u.Am not into any party freeque or from Ekiti, but free the Gov.

Mr fayose is a symbol of a good man with a difference ways of life, a man of his word,a man with fear of God & human, a man dat does not believe in office, a man that believes in human right, I lov ur outfit sir,is not by dress just let them say yoruba so wipe aso unla ko leniyan unla.

How does doctor dress? Have you seen a king in his dressing before? What of lawyer and other professions? The position of governor is a honourable position, to me it is not good for governor of whole state dressing in that way to public occasion. Governor cherish this position, you must know you are representing some people not yourselves.

We can’t all behave diameter way, wear what you like and present budget, he doesn’t need to buy expensive clothes for budget so Nigerians appreciate and respect other people’s feelings. It’s their lives. We waste money on irrelevant things like burial, spending lavishly on lweddings birthdays

    45. Ben on Jan 2, 2016 9:28 pm

There is no constitutional provision for the dress code of a governor during budget defence. I am not from Ekiti State but I see Fayose as one of the best governors of our time. Let him remain consistent in delivering the dividends of democracy to his people.

    46. Ifiok on Jan 2, 2016 8:35 pm

Comment:hope it is not constitutional. Is it better for him to waste people money on dresses while we suffer infrastructural decay? It is goverment of the people, for the people not dress.
