Chelsea defender John Terry has revealed that Manchester United legendary coach, Sir Alex Ferguson tried to sign him at the age of 14.
Terry has been at Chelsea all his career where he has become a cult figure but if Ferguson had gotten his way, things would have been a whole lot different.
The Chelsea captain took to his Instagram to share a photo of himself when he was 14 sitting with Sir Alex Ferguson.
In the photo, the 14-year-old Terry is sat between his mum Sue, Sir Alex Ferguson and dad Ted.
“Flashback to a young 14-year-old JT Who would have thought I would go onto win 4 Premier Leagues and 5 FA Cups. @chelseafc I have so much respect for Sir Alex Ferguson and will never forget what he done for me and my family,” the 35-year-old writes on his Instagram.
According to reports, Ferguson tried to sign the young Terry who was a holding midfielder in 1994-95.
The then Manchester United manager invited Terry and his dad who is a Red Devils’ fan to a meeting as he was looking to sign the teenager.
