Six persons have died in Kano after taking a locally-brewed wine during a wedding party.
An eyewitness told reporters Monday that the incident happened at about 10:30pm on Sunday, adding that the deceased, who were all males aged between 20 and 22 drank the substance during the party.
The eyewitness said the deceased died on their way to a hospital.
Confirming the incident, Kano State Police Command spokesman, Musa Magaji Majia, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), said, “The police have since commenced investigation into the matter with a view to finding out the cause of the incident.”
“On receiving the report, we invited the groom and he is currently assisting us in our investigation. But I cannot confirm the number of the dead until we finish our investigation.”
