Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has decried the twist introduced to a photograph of himself holding a placard lending support to the hash tagged word “Bring Back Our Girls”, as a new version of the same photo was edited with the hash tag (#) replaced by the Naira sign.
In a brief statement he sent out to correct the false impression, Atiku said it was rather unfortunate that what was supposed to be a serious issue was being trivialized by ‘someone without human feelings’.
“These girls could have been my daughters….Or your sisters”, he said, adding that “I’m appealing to our young people to focus their creative energy on actively calling for the safe return of our girls”.
He used the opportunity to call on Nigerians to unite against terrorism saying “we must all unite and speak as one country”.
