    Sokoto State Procures 1.5 Million Anti-malaria Medicines

    Sokoto State government is set to distribute anti-malaria drugs and mosquito net to hospitals and health centres in the state.

    In furtherance of this, the Sokoto State government has reportedly obtained 1.5 million anti malaria drugs for onward distribution to the hospitals and health centres in the state.

    The anti-malaria medicines which was received by the State Malaria Elimination Agency alongside 50,000 units of Insecticide treated mosquito nets is to be distributed freely to public health facilities across the 23 local government areas in the state.

    In his remarks the Sokoto State Commissioner of health, Dr Muhammed Ali Inname, who was duly represented by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry Alhji Abubakar Muhammed, thanked the management of EMZOR Pharmacutical LTD for producing the required quantities within the stipulated time frame.

    While speaking on behalf of the Agency, the Director General of the State Malaria Elimination Agency, Muslim Adamu Gobir, stated that:

    “These medicines are special formulations manufactured and designed for sokoto state government which is customized with “Not for sale inscription” for easy identification and tracking”.

    He further stated that the supply cover doses for all category of patients, including pregnant women and that the mosquito nets will be distributed to children who completed immunization and pregnant women during their ante-natal visits.
