Social Media Has Helped Youths Make Sense Out Of A Failed Nigeria – Kemi Lala

Nollywood actress, Kemi Lala Akindoju has come out to blast Desmond Elliot and other Lagos lawmakers after their submission at the controversial plenary which held few days ago.

She recently revealed that it is sad that none of the lawmakers involved even pretended to be on the side of the people who voted them in.

According to her, a huge percentage of the people who burnt police stations, looted, and robbed are not on social media and Desmond Elliot even apologized only because of the same “social media that needs regulation.”

She added that young Nigerians have made sense out of everything Nigeria has failed to provide for them because of social media, and that should be respected.

His words, “Hon @DesmondOElliot sir, I have watched the complete video of the proceedings at the house. The most painful thing is none of you pretended to be on the side of the people that voted you into office. Y’all observed a moment of silence for the policemen that were killed.

What of The citizens that were killed all over the country? What of the peaceful protesters that were hoses down, tear gassed and shot at? What of the families still looking for their loved ones?

What of the palliatives that were hoarded?? What of bad leadership, corruption, zero accountability and more from most of the leaders voted in. A large percentage of the people who burnt police stations, looted and robbed are not even on social media.

YOU know this, YOU know how much young people have made sense out of everything Nigeria has FAILED to provide for them because of social media. But ALL OF YOU chose to turn away from the real issues. NOT ONE PERSON SPOKE TRUTH TO POWER. It is all good. We will not forget and we will do the work to reach everyone within and beyond social media. We will not forget.
