    Sokoto State Government Release N155m To Construct Women Centres

    Governor Aminu TambuwalSokoto State Government has released N155 million for the construction of Women Development Centres in all the 23 local government areas of the state.

    Hajiya Kulu Abdullahi, Commissioner of Women Affairs, said at a media briefing on Thursday in Sokoto that the money was released to various contractors handling the project.

    She said that the centres were designed to offer skills training to women, to make them self reliant.

    The commissioner added that already eight of the centres located in Wamakko, Sokoto South, Sokoto North, Kware,Tangaza, Binji, Gudu and Silame local government areas had been completed.

    She expressed satisfaction with the level of work going on at the remaining centres.

    Abdullahi said that the ministry had paid N16 million for the construction of two houses for medical doctors at Maryam Abacha Women and Children Hospital, Sokoto.
