Six players from the Glo Premier League have been selected to join forces with 18 of their oversees-based colleagues for next month’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Tanzania.
Both selected players from the domestic league and other invited foreign-based professionals are expected to be back for resumption of training in Abuja on Tuesday after their respective club commitments this weekend.
The Super Eagles will train till Thursday, when they will fly out of the country to Dar es Salam for next weekend’s encounter.
The home-based players in coach Sunday Oliseh’s squad are Usman Mohammed of FC Taraba, Chima Akas of Sharks FC, Sunshine Stars’ Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Prince Aggreh, Austin Abaroakpo of Abia Warriors and Warri Wolves defender Solomon Kwambe.
Nigeria are tied on three points with Group G leaders Egypt, but trail the North Africans on goal difference.
