Senator Dino Melaye has called on the Federal Government to replace the state of origin option to state of residence to promote unity.
The Senator who said he will become the President of Nigeria one day, said the move will reduce the promotion of ethnic sentiments.
Melaye said this at the formal unveiling ceremony of the official logo of the Peace Corps of Nigeria (PCN).
He said “Ethnic bigotry should be shunned; there should be a replacement of the state-of-origin to unite the country.
“Any responsible person that has lived in a particular place for a certain number of years can aspire to any political position including that state’s governor seat.”
The Senator also said “There is also the need for the review of the educational system so as to teach more morals, values and culture with a view to building falling walls.”
Dino Melaye recently threatened to lead a massive protest against the Federal Government, when the pump price of fuel was increased to N145.
