The Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kolapo Olusola has again charged final year students of Public Secondary Schools in the state to reciprocate the good gesture of the State Governor, Dr Ayodele Fayose who approved the ongoing intervention programme for the SS3 students by making use of the opportunity and study hard to record excellent performance in the forthcoming National Examinations.
Dr. Olusola gave the charge at Mary Immaculate Girls Grammar Schools, Ado-Ekiti while monitoring the State-Government Intervention Programme in English and Mathematics for Senior Secondary Class 3 students of Public Schools in the state. He said that the Governor was passionate for the overall success of the students and youths generally, who he believed are Nigeria future leaders, and expressed the governors readiness to invest in their future to prepare them for the challenges of leadership.
The Deputy Governor reaffirmed that Dr. Ayodele Fayose had paid for this year’s WASCE and UTME despite the state’s poor financial situation, urging the students to be diligent in their studies to meet the government’s set target of 80% credit passes in five subjects including English Language and Mathematics. Dr. Olusola who noted that the government has played its part while teachers and parents are discharging theirs too appropriately, charged the students to also be assiduous in playing their roles so that the government and other stakeholders’ huge investment on them will not be a waste.
