When Omooba Sunday Solarin FCA assumed the Chairmanship seat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ikenne Local Government in 2008, many political pundits were dismayed. Sunday Solarin, to them, was too young at 35 years to handle such a post reserved mostly for the elderly and experienced political juggernauts. In their evaluation, he was too young and inexperienced enough to handle the office effectively. As far as they were concerned, it was an unforgivable and unacceptable political summersault.
But by the time he stepped down from the office after 3 years to run for Ogun State House of Assembly seat in 2011, the story changed. Solarin exceeded expectations. The impression of him then was and now is impressively crystal clear. On the impression of his performance and personality, fast forward to 2018.

Recently, while on consultation tour to the political leaders, Ikenne LG Executive Officers and Collegiate Council, to intimate them and seek their blessings on his aspiration to represent Ikenne State constituency in the Ogun State House of Assembly in 2019, little did Solarin know it was going to be a moment of positive testimonies on his leadership and showers of accolades on his personality.
To the leading leader, Pa Duro Otesanya, Apostle Dave Salako, Hon Kayode Ogunderu, Pa Kola Solarin, Hon Kayode Adebayo, Hon Seye Sonuga, Alhaji Supo Ogunlesi, Engr Leke Onasile, Yeye Nike Adebutu and Hon Kamorudeen Ariyo, Solarin is competent, charismatic, pragmatic, purposeful, wise, smart and visionary.

To the local government executive officers and members of the Collegiate Council, he is diligent, a party man, born organiser, democrat, welfarist and mobiliser.
To the 170 ward executive officers, from Ikenne wards 1,2 to Iperu wards 3 4, 5; from Ogere wards 6,7, Ilishan wards 8,9 to Irolu ward 10, Solarin is impartial, courageous, a listener and passionate lover of the people.

To the youths, he is a worthy ambassador, sincere, intelligent and a peacemaker. To the women, he is pleasant and compassionate and to the elderly, he is an epitome of humility and tolerance. Indeed, it was a moment of truth and uncommon solidarity.
It was Kent Keith who said ” If you are not giving the world the best that you have, what world are you saving it for “. As the political climate gets closer, Solarin, with his God given assets, assured the leaders and party executives of his resolution and determination to give the BEST to the good people of Ikenne LG in 2019. And they BELIEVE him 100%.
Opomulero…2019!
