Torino midfielder Joel Obi will be sidelined for a week, his club have announced.
The midfielder underwent tests on Thursday after persisting symptoms of pains to the flexor muscle of the left thigh.
The club said in a statement on its official website that Obi is suffering from overload on the leg: “MRI he underwent Obi showed an overuse the semitendinosus muscle of the left thigh. Recovery times are currently estimated at approximately 5-7 days.
The former Inter Milan midfielder is among 18 foreign-based professionals called up for a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier against Tanzania by Nigeria coach Sunday Oliseh.
