Captain of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, John Mikel Obi has urged unity within the squad after their 2-1 victory at Zambia.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Sunday, October 9 beat Zambia 2-1 in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
After the win Mikel Obi who played the whole 90 minutes in the win wants the Super Eagles to be united and also urged support from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
“I have belief that we can reach new heights with this team. The boys are so committed that it makes you happy. The coaching crew is made up of very matured and brilliant people who respect the players. We are onto a good thing,” Mikel told the NFF website.
“We have a very good chance to qualify for the World Cup if we keep our heads and play at our best level. Each and every one of us is determined to go to the World Cup. Now that we are top of the table, we have to remain there.”
The Super Eagles will play Algeria at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo in the next match-day of the qualifiers.
