On Friday, the Supreme Court of Nigeria upheld Peter Mbah’s election as governor of Enugu State.
Uche Nnaji, the candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC), had his appeal denied.
The Supreme Court ruled 5–0 that Nnaji and his party were unfit to appeal because they submitted an insufficient brief of argument.
The court also found that Nnaji did not provide any justification for using the invalid process he filed to overturn Mbah’s victory.
According to Infostride News, Nnaji’s case against Mbah was thrown out by the Court of Appeal in Enugu in July.
Nnaji had contested Mbah’s election as governor, claiming that he had not been elected by a majority of valid ballots.
