    TAUS and Japan Technical Communicators Association Announce Partnership

    TAUS and Japan Technical Communicators Association (JTCA) have signed a partnership agreement giving JTCA members a 20% discount on TAUS membership.

    Amsterdam, Netherlands, February 01, 2014 –(PR.com)– This partnership opens the reports, online resources, tools, data and metrics developed by TAUS and its members to many of the large Japanese corporations that are members of JTCA. JTCA members will also be able to attend the TAUS Executive Forum on April 10 and 11.

    TAUS is a member organization and resource center for the global translation sector. The TAUS services include a very large shared translation memory data repository, a Dynamic Quality Framework with a knowledge base, online tools and reporting for translation quality evaluation and a knowledge base, tutorials and shared research for users of machine translation technology.

    “We are very pleased to enter into this partnership with JTCA,” says Jaap van der Meer, director of TAUS. “We are keen to expand the knowledge sharing among our members globally. Our members in Europe and North America will have much to learn from the needs and requirements of Japanese corporations and vice versa of course.”

    On April 10 and 11 TAUS will organize an Executive Forum in Tokyo for buyers and providers of translation in Japan. This annual forum, hosted by Oracle Japan, will be held for the fourth time this year. Participants benefit from the shared insights in translation technology, best practices and use cases.

    Toshimasa Yamazaki, Administrative Director of JTCA said, “Technical communication and translation, each of which will be important more than ever. Let’s cooperate to increase the participants in each event. Machine translation will be one of the most interesting topics in TC Symposiums (Tokyo and Kyoto) held by JTCA.”
