Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs Report – The Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, who is also the Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Continuous Dialogue and Resolution of Security Challenges in the North has reassured Nigerians that terrorism in Nigeria will soon be a thing of the past.
Kabiru Turaki made the remark when he visited the Maitama, Asokoro and National Hospitals where the injured victims of the Monday April 14, 2014 bomb blast in Nyanya, Abuja are being treated. He stated that government is committed to the safety of lives and properties of Nigerians and other residents of the country; indicating that this has compelled President Goodluck Jonathan to set up the ‘Presidential Committee on Continuous Dialogue with Boko Haram Members.’
The Minister beckoned on all Nigerians to join hands with security agencies towards curbing the menace as well as provide them with useful information that will guide them in the course of their duties. He expressed satisfaction for the level of care that has been offered to the victims of the bomb blast, while commending the medical personnel in the various hospitals visited for their patriotism.
“As part of the measures to end the current security challenges facing the country, the Federal Government has initiated continuous dialogue with the insurgents, who have shown disposition towards such. The security agents would be ready for those who have refused to dialogue with government. I want to assure you that government will leave no stone unturned towards bringing an end to the killings in Nigeria,” Turaki inferred.
