The Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Political Matters, Senator Babafemi Ojudu has likened his governorship aspiration in Ekiti State to continuation of his community service and commitment to humanity.
“The challenges on ground are huge, but none is insurmountable. However, in view of these challenges, we in the APC must put our best foot forward.
“The state cannot afford any form of distractions; whether in form of litigation, suspicious, real or imagined. We need someone without baggage in the Oke Ayoba Government House come July 14.
“Campaign and electioneering will soon be over and done with eventually, but the task of governance is serious business that requires 100 per cent commitment.
“However, the commitment becomes less cumbersome with the level of preparation, the type our team has put together.
“We are fully prepared to hit the ground running on the first day in office,’’ Ojudu said.
Ojudu also stressed that the people of Ekiti State were relatively easy to serve.
“Fortunately, our people are one of the easiest people anywhere in the world to lead. Enlightened people are not difficult to serve, provided you earn their trust.
“I understand the concerns of outsiders as informed by the political events of the last couple of years, but these events are often misunderstood and put out context.
“We have a very enlightened population, probably the highest in the country. The job of a committed political leader, who is ready for selfless service, is all the more made easier.
“But that person must come with fewer distractions as much as possible. We are lucky in the APC.
“We have highly quality and qualified individuals. All the same, we must put our best foot forward. In this race, Ekiti must be first on everyone’s mind.
“The rebirth of the state can no longer wait, nor can it be sacrificed on the altar of ego, self-centeredness and inadequate preparation for the task ahead.
“You must have gone through our blueprint. If not, you have to do so to understand our level of preparedness to spearhead the rebirth of Ekiti,” he said.
