The Director General of the World Health Organization, Dr Tedros Ahnadom, has spoken on the invention of COVID-19 vaccines. The WHO boss stated in a tweet today that, vaccines are not enough to cure COVID-19.
Dr Tedros stated that people should not be contented or self satisfied with the invention of the vaccine but should be self preserving against any trouble that may result thereafter.
In his words, the World Health Organization is concerned about the rise in COVID-19 cases in some countries and WHO is currently working in liase with partners to combat the spread of the virus and protect lives.
He stated that WHO is positive on new tools to combat the virus which will be ready for use in few months time. The World Health Organization has therefore issued guidance for the medical and public health workers.
WHO has in view of this provide capacity health supplies to ensure that health workers who take I’ll are duly taken care of. Also enough bed have been provided for coronavirus patients to ensure that essential health related work is not affected.
