Bayern Munich defender, Matthijs de Ligt has come out to share the details of the chat he had with the linesman vs Real Madrid. This is coming after he was denied a late Bayern Munich equaliser in the UCL, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, the linesman actually told him the goal Bayern Munich scored was onside after the game, and he made a mistake with his call.

De Ligt added that he is not one to blame the referee for a loss, but officiating rules should be adhered to strictly.
His words, “This is a shame. The linesman said to me ‘I’m sorry I made a mistake.’ In the end, I’m not the type of person who wants to blame the loss or win on the referee so Madrid deserves to win because they won 2-1. But I think, if it’s a rule, it’s a rule and that’s the only thing I can say about it.”
WOW.
