INEC has announced that they are fully committed to being in charge of a free, fair and credible Governorship supplementary election in Kano State.
The polls are scheduled to hold on March 23 this year.
The INEC officer in Kano State, Prof. Riskuwa Arab-Shehu revealed this in a recent statement, where he said the supplementary election will be the last decider, and a winner will surely be produced.
His words, “INEC wishes to reiterate its commitment towards a conduct of free, fair and credible election in the state.
It also wishes to inform the public that the Supplementary Election will be conducted on Saturday March 23.”
On why a winner could be announced in the last election, he said, “Based on the above and looking at the marginal lead of 26, 655 between the two candidates with highest votes and the number of total votes cancelled which stands at 128, 572, a winner cannot be declared at this stage until a supplementary election is conducted in the affected polling units.”
