Acting Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr Ibrahim Magu, has revealed his worry at the sluggish pace of action from the United Kingdom (UK) on the corruption case involving Diezani Alison-Madueke.
Diezani Alison-Madueke, an ex-Minister of Petroleum, is currently being prosecuted by the UK government on issues of corruption.
Ibrahim Magu has now expressed his concern at the delay of the prosecution in the UK after four years with no sign of the case ending.
His words, “There is the case of Diezani which has been going on for over four years and the amount involved is about 2.4 billion dollars and no kobo has been recovered from overseas.
“Though we have recovered some of the proceeds of the crime, we are still tracing others.”
He begged the United Kingdom to speed up prosecution or return them to Nigeria since she is Nigerian.
