Tragedy struck in Plateau State weekend as two students of a secondary school in Shendam, were struck dead by lightening while another was seriously injured.
The principal of the school, Mr. Raymond Gofut, was quoted as saying the incident occurred when the students were returning to their dormitory in the evening shortly after a downpour.
The third student was immediately rushed to an undisclosed hospital while the bodies of the deceased students were later deposited at a local mortuary.
Confirming the incident, the state Commissioner for Education, Mr. Nanle Dashe, said it was not a government-owned secondary school though he was yet to receive full details about the incident.
