The Tiv Youth Organisation (TYO) in Nasarawa State has petitioned the State Commissioner of Police, Sani Mohammed over the alleged killing of two of its kinsmen from Asumeku village in Lafia local government area of the state.
This was contained in a letter of complaint jointly authorised by the President and Secretary-General of the organisation, Honourable Peter Igbacher Kwembe and Joseph Ndyar respectively, which was addressed to the State CP and other security agencies.
TYO appealed to security personnel to arrest the murderers and prosecute them in order to serve as deterrent to others and for the interest of peace and justice.
Attacks over the years on Tiv people in the state have been carried out by alleged Fulani herdsmen. It is, however, not clear yet, who are responsible for the latest attack. Some Tiv settlements in Nasarawa attacked in the past include Gidan Dama and Gidan Ityodun.
