Commercial activities on Sunday came to a halt around the venue of the PDP stakeholders meeting held in Calabar, Cross River State
It took efforts of security operatives to control the crowd which turned out at the venue of the meeting, InfoStride News reports
“Mobile policemen, police officers, civil defence operatives as well as the DSS had a hard time controlling the crowd, especially when former governor senator Liyel Imoke, Essien Ayi and prominent members of the party, within and outside the state arrived,” a source told the media.
Also present at the meeting were national, state assembly members of the PDP party.
The stakeholders meeting saw all major roads and streets in the state blocked, causing traffic gridlock for road users.
