Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA have successfully thwarted a bandits’ attack in Matazu Local Government Area of Katsina State, rescuing a kidnapped woman and her infant child.
Security sources revealed that armed bandits stormed Ringin Gora village around 8:30 p.m. on Monday, May 20, abducting 22-year-old Saratu Abdullahi and her child.
Following a distress alert, Operation FANSAN YANMA troops, in coordination with the Katsina State Civilian Watch Committee (KSCWC) and local vigilante groups, swiftly mobilized to track the kidnappers.

Engaging the bandits in a hot pursuit, the security forces pressured the criminals, forcing them to abandon the woman and her child and flee into the bush.
Saratu Abdullahi and her infant were rescued unharmed and safely returned to their community, easing fears among residents.
This operation marks another success in ongoing military efforts to combat banditry and abductions in Nigeria’s North-West region.
Security authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to continuing aggressive measures against banditry and criminal activities across Katsina State and neighboring areas.
