President Donald Trump on Wednesday declared that companies manufacturing their products within the United States will pay zero tariffs, reinforcing his “America First” economic agenda.
The 78-year-old Republican made the announcement at the White House Rose Garden while unveiling a new set of tariffs on imports.
“There’s no tariff if you build your product right here in America,” Trump stated.

He urged foreign nations to adjust their trade policies, saying, “Terminate your own tariffs, drop your barriers, don’t manipulate your currencies, and start buying tens of billions of dollars’ worth of American goods.”
Trump has already implemented a 10% tariff on all imports into the United States. Additionally, he has imposed 25% tariffs on foreign-made vehicles and on imports of steel and aluminum.
The president had earlier announced that the new tariffs would take effect starting April 3.
