Two persons have been declared missing in Lagos after a boat capsized at the Bayeku area of the state.
The 20-passenger boat had taken off from the Okera Nla area of Ikorodu and was bound for Bayeku when the boat capsized midway.
Confirming the incident, the South-west Spokesperson, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye, said the agency received the distress call and responded accordingly.
“We received a distress alert about a boat mishap. The boat owned by the Okera Nla boat association, was said to have taken off from Okera Nla and was heading to Bayeku with 20 passengers onboard.
“The capsize took place by 7:30 pm but as of today, 18 were rescued alive while two are still missing and so our search continues till they are found,” he said.
