The Zamfara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has announced the defection of two members of the State House of Assembly from the All Progressives Congress, APC, to its fold.
The lawmakers—Hon. Sulaiman Hassan Bosko of Mafara I Constituency and Hon. Nura Dahiru of Birnin Magaji Constituency—were received into the party, according to a statement issued by the PDP Publicity Secretary, Halliru Andi.
The party said the development reflects the deepening internal crises and leadership challenges confronting the APC in Zamfara.

According to the statement, the lawmakers chose the PDP because they sought stability, progress, and credible leadership.
The PDP attributed their decision to the leadership style of Governor Dauda Lawal, commending his efforts in improving security, infrastructure, transparency, and governance in the state.
Welcoming the defectors, the PDP said their entry strengthens the party and further boosts public confidence in its ability to deliver good governance.
“The PDP Zamfara State Chapter warmly welcomes the two honourable legislators into the party. Their coming further strengthens our movement and reinforces the confidence of the people in the PDP as the only party capable of delivering genuine development and good governance,” the statement read.
“We assure them of full integration and cooperation as we continue working together for a safer, stronger, and more prosperous Zamfara State.”
