Popular actress Uche Jombo has just called out one of Nigeria’s major national publication, Punch Newspaper for publishing a misleading story.
The movie producer on Sunday, August 7, 2016 called out the publication after they published an exclusive interview with her on Sunday, August 7, 2016 in their Sunday Scoop section, in which she reportedly said she never dated anyone in Nigeria.
The mum of one based in Houston, Texas with her family took to her Twitter page to put Punch on blast saying she never granted them any interview.
According to her, “While we were promoting #WivesOnStrike I was asked on a ‘video’ interview about having a long distance relationship in which I replied it’s not long distance, it’s the kind I’m already used to and i make it WORK by balancing family and work.
Pls don’t misquote me on a video interview n hv the nerve to call it exclusive. My last press interview was with Sam olatunji 4wivesOnStrike.”
According to what Punch published Jombo said, “Before I got married, I had always dated people who lived outside Nigeria. As a result, being married to someone who lives abroad does not seem bizarre. I didn’t plan to marry someone who lives abroad. Rather, it just happened.”
Apparently, the interview was taken from a video interview she had in May, to promote the movie “Wives On Strike”.
Jumbo wedded Kenny in Puerto Rico in 2012 and welcomed their first child together, Matthew Rodriguez in May 2015.
Recently, she reacted against the Nigerian Senate vote against the Gender and Equal Opportunity Bill.
