The Governors of Delta and Niger States, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan and Dr Babangida Aliyu respectively have reaffirmed their faith in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying that the dark days of the party were over.
The Governors agreed that there was chaos in the party which has been resolved and that the PDP has now re-positioned itself to win convincible in the 2015 general elections.
According to Governor Uduaghan, who played host to Governor Aliyu and members of his team, the party is now stabilized, happier and more united, observing that Governor Aliyu took a wise decision by not abandoning the party during the crisis adding to the fact that Governor Aliyu kept saying and reassuring that “he is a PDP man for life”.
Dr Uduaghan told his Niger State counterpart that the answer to the challenges was not to run away but to remain inside, tackle the challenges and effect the desire changes, admitting that Governor Aliyu is one of them.
He used the occasion to call on leaders to always take politics at the grassroots very seriously, asserting that the lives of the rural dwellers must be transformed since politics is about getting to the people at the grassroots.
Governor Uduaghan described Governor Aliyu as a man who is playing tactical roles in uniting the country as the chairman of the Northern Governors’ Forum (NGF), assuring that Nigeria will remain one indivisible entity.
In his remark, Governor Aliyu said Nigeria will witness a peaceful election in 2015 and the PDP will remain strong and triumphant in the elections.
The Niger State Governor admitted that 2015 will come and go peacefully and it will be to the success of the PDP, adding that the PDP is at the grassroots and the people are fully in support of the Party.
He expressed satisfaction with the roles Governor Uduaghan is playing in the PDP, stating that his stand on issues has saved the PDP from crises and his knowledge and wisdom is an asset to the Party.
Governor Aliyu was suitably impressed in Delta State especially with its infrastructural development, despite the State’s oil revenue and oil wells, admitting that Governor Uduaghan is diversifying the State’s economy through the Delta Beyond Oil initiative and this is very proactive for the State and the country.
