Delta State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, CON has paid glowing tribute to the late Military Administrator of the state, Col. John David Dungs as he was laid to rest in Jos, the Plateau State capital.
Represented by the State Deputy Governor, Prof Amos Utuama, (SAN), the governor praised the late MILAD for his commitment to sustainable development, adding that the state was still building on the foundations he laid.
According to Uduaghan, Col. Dungs led a most peaceful life, always keen on helping and giving to the less privileged adding that his foray into politics would have been aimed at expanding and strengthening his capacity to assist, to lift and prop those who needed his help most.
He commended his gallantry during the Liberia civil war as he was a member of the team that seized a gunboat from the Charles Taylor led rebels, capturing 27 of the rebels during the civil war in Liberia.
He also praised him for bringing his training as an engineer from the famous Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) to bear on all he did after settling down at Abuja before politics brought him back home to Jos.
The governor subsequently urged the widow, Mrs.Victoria Dungs to always remember that her late husband touched the lives of many people positively and should be encouraged by his good deeds.
Earlier, Plateau State Governor, Jonah Jang, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Shedrack Best, also lauded the late Dungs for leading a good life.
Also present to pay their last respect were the Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Titus Ayuba Alums and the G O C, 3rd Division who was represented by Brig.-Gen. Leo Irabor.
