“It was even the sound of their gunshot that woke me up. I walked quietly to check the window and discovered that they were kidnappers. Some of them even dressed like soldiers.”

A vigilante, who preferred anonymity, said he alerted men of the C Police Division immediately he heard sporadic gunshots in the area.

He said the vigilante as well as the police from the C Division engaged the kidnappers in a shootout; however the unknown gunmen escaped with their victims.

FCT Police spokesman, ASP Yusuf Mariam, didn’t respond to phone calls.
