Governor Hope Uzodimma has received a group of members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) into the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State.
Uzodimma disclosed this in a post on his official X handle, noting that the defectors were led by Evangelist Mike Ikokwu.
According to the governor, the new direction of governance in the state is delivering tangible results, adding that progressive-minded individuals would not want to be left behind.

“The new trajectory for Imo State development is yielding remarkable results, and no progressive-minded person desires to be left behind,” he stated.
He added that the renewed political momentum in the state is driven by a shared commitment to development and prosperity.
“It was with great pleasure that I welcomed a distinguished group of Imolites, led by Evang. Mike Ikokwu, from the opposition party, the PDP, into our progressive family, the APC,” Uzodimma said.
Describing the defection as a demonstration of commitment to the state’s collective interest, the governor stressed that his administration remains focused on sustainable progress.
Uzodimma further stated that Imo State would continue to align with national political direction under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, which he described as purposeful.
