Nigerian troops have taken over major streets in the commercial city of Kano Saturday ahead of the visit of President Goodluck Jonathan.
Combat ready anti-riot policemen and men from Department of State Security Services were also seen in their large numbers to ensure a hitch free visit.
The visit of Mr. President to the ancient city coincides with the annual Maulud celebration by the Quadriyya sect that involves large procession of faithful.
