Vote of No Confidence on Governor Umahi by Ebonyi South APC Stakeholders Regrettable and Unfortunate – DUNAETA

Lady Monica Eze the President and Founder of a vibrant, virile grassroots NGO, the David Umahi Nweze Akubaraoha Ebonyi Transformation Agenda (DUNAETA) has described the five point communiqué issued by the Ebonyi All Progressives Congress (APC) Southern Senatorial District stakeholders after its meeting in Afikpo recently describing Governor Umahi as a non performing Governor as most regrettable and unfortunate.

The communiqué jointly signed by Mr Victor Umeh and Mr Victor Elem-Nnaji, the APC Zonal Chairman and State Secretary respectively at the end of their meeting came to us as a great shock” DUNAETA President said .

According to the party, “the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led administration of Gov. Dave Umahi had failed to deliver good governance and credible leadership to the state….”. The Communiqué further stated. “The APC Ebonyi South Senatorial Zone leaders and stakeholders deeply regret the monumental failure in leadership in the state and have accordingly passed a- vote- of no confidence on the administration.”

Though it is not our intention to join issues with this group of political jobbers and jokers or to give them any unduly undeserved publicity but we must state that we are shocked of the contents of the Communiqué which portrays the conveners either as unserious minded fellows or a group who are trying to hoodwink the innocent Ebonyians in their foolery and ignorance of the revolution currently being ignited in Ebonyi State through the wonder working Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. Dave Nweze Umahi.

DUNAETA spearheading the sustenance of good governance in Ebonyi State further described both the APC meeting and its outcome as not only a mockery of sound reasoning but an action that ought to be condemned by any follower of the monumental development and infrastructural revolution currently taking place in Ebonyi State.

The position of the so called APC Leaders of Ebonyi South Senatorial Zone not only contradicts the position of President Muhammadu Buhari the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria but mockery of the position of the leader of APC who maintains that Gov Umahi is one of the most outstanding Governors of the current dispensation.

If Engr. Dave Nweze Umahi the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, Co-Chairman of the Southern Governors’ Forum, Chairman South East Governors’ Forum, recipient of the 2016 Zik’s Award for leadership, recipient of the Newark city award, an International figure, a trailblazer, a radical revolutionist, an asset and an example for others in leadership positions at all levels to emulate can be described as a failure in leadership then such a group need a psychiatrist’s attention.

Lady Monica Eze who also doubles as the Technical Adviser (TA) on Media to Gov. Umahi drew the attention of these misguided APC Leaders to the recent commissioned projects by Mr. President: two number 700 meter twin overhead bridges at Akanu Ibiam and Offia Nwali roundabouts respectively, a pedestrian overhead crossing at Ebonyi State University permanent site gate, the Abakaliki urban internal road network which has a total distance of 500 kilometers, the 18.5 kilometer Nkwegu – FUNAI road, the remodeled Abakaliki Township Stadium which has a fully air-conditioned V.I.P. stand, a fully-equipped virology centre at the Federal Teaching Hospital II, Abakaliki, the street lights projects in all the streets in Abakaliki municipality as well as the five ornamental water fountains.

The starting off of the famous Ebonyi mall that is modelled after the famous Dubai mall to be commissioned within the next 12 months, the building of a tunnel that dovetails into a flyover that is parallel to the existing flyover at Akanu Ibiam junction.

Other projects that the APC leadership in Ebonyi State need to consider before passing out their unjust judgment are the commissioned 18.5km road leading to the Alex Ekweme Federal University, Ndufu Alike Ikwo which was done with concrete and overlaid with Asphalt, the 15.5km Nigercem road that passes through the first cement factory in the country which is in Ebonyi State and connects to Benue.

Lady Eze who was so irritated went further to state that, any group in Ebonyi State who are witnesses to all these feats by Gov Umahi and still come out with such unholy verdict can only be seen as enemies of Ebonyi State and must be resisted.

To lady Eze, “ it is most regrettable, wicked, callous and treacherous, unfortunate, condemnable, laughable, insensitive and exhibition of ingratitude and ignorance by those who attended that meeting to describe Umahi as a non performing Governor after turing around the fortunes of the State and making the State the new face of democracy in Nigeria.”

“What this misguided elements have succeeded in doing is to mock the USA Ambassador and other world leaders that have declared Umahi as one of the best leaders that emanated from this State” lady Eze observed.

“Let us reiterate therefore conclude that if this is a ploy to scuttle and deny the State the re-election of the God sent leader come 2019 that such a wishful thinking will not see the light of the day as all good people of Ebonyi State have resolved to re-elect Governor Umahi for a second term tenure come 2019 no matter what ever challenge this crop of feeble minded fellows intends to present” DUNAETA President stressed

“Umahi has demonstrated capacity to take Ebonyi State to the Eldorado as close watchers of Ebonyi State politics can easily agree with us that Governor Umahi is by all standards a revolutionist, an embodiment and true light of democracy in the politics of Nigeria and a man whose passion for excellence in governance knows no bounds and is well qualified and entitled to a second term tenure so that he can make the State a model for other States in Nigeria” lady Eze finally declared.
