Nigerian singer and songwriter, Waje Iruobeis a year older today, September 1, 2017.
The single mother stormed the music scene when her vocals were featured on Psquare’s smash hit ‘Do Me’ in 2008. She has won several awards for her amazing voice.
A native of Edo state, she has since gone on to become one of the leading female songwriters and singers in the country.
The University of Nigeria graduate has since gone stronger and has won several awards over the past couple of years including Best Female Vocalist NEA 2011, Headies 2011, Best Reggae/ Dance hall, Headies 2013 amongst others.
Waje is also known as the messenger of love. With a voice that wakes emotions and heart rendering lyrics, she really is Cupid!
She has also shown a deep passion for gender equality and opportunity which seeks to empower African women. She joined the One.org to launch a worldwide campaign for gender equality. Even lending her voice to their theme song last year.
