The present administration in Ogun State is ready to partner with any individual or group willing to collaborate with it in the quest to rebuild the State.
To this end, its doors are opened to suggestions, advises and constructive criticisms on how it could further enhance the socio-economic condition of the people.
The State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Barrister Yusuph Olaniyonu made this assertion today at his Oke-Mosan office when he hosted members of the Executive Council of the Abeokuta Sports club 1904.
He said the various developmental strides of the Senator Ibikunle Amosun led administration needed the support and contributions from different strata of the society, affirming that the government remained resolute in its resolution to turn around the fortunes of the State and enhance its socio-economic growth.
The Commissioner reminded his guests that social groups should not be contented in looking after the welfare of members alone, but should aspire to be a platform for gauging perception of government’s performances and help in ensuring successful implementation of its policies and programmes to engender a better society.
“Development always comes with a price which is always temporary; it is your duty as members of respected social club like yours to persuade the public to understand the motives of government at turning around the fortunes of the society for the good of all”, he said.
Earlier, President of the Club, Lion Tunde Aregbesola, has commended the Commissioner for the dexterity and expertise with which the Ministry under his leadership has been handling information dissemination about government and its activities, soliciting government’s support for the Club’s 110th year anniversary celebration coming up later in the year.
In another development, Commissioner Olaniyonu also hosted the Executive of the Student Union Government of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, (FUNAAB) during which he enjoined them to eschew violence and support programmes and policies of government at all times.
He noted that objectivity and professionalism has been restored in interfacing between the publics and government, adding that incidence of cultism had been reduced to the barest minimum in all state government-owned institutions due to the paradigm shift and massive investments in security by the present administration.
“As one of the States with the highest number of higher institutions in the country churning out so many graduates yearly, the government is striving to encourage investors so as not to be confronted with the challenge of potential problematic people as graduates, but potential future leaders, he said.
Olaniyonu therefore tasked the visiting students to always aspire to excel in their vocations in order to perform their expected roles as future leaders and agents of positive change needed to transform the country.
