The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Oyo State has announced that it will run candidates in the upcoming municipal election.
The APC is the state’s largest opposition party.
According to Infostride News, the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) has finalized preparations to hold local government elections inside the State.
A date in April 2024 has been set for the election.
Wasiu Olawale Sadare, the APC’s publicity secretary, sent a statement to DAILY POST in which he reaffirmed the party’s intention to run candidates in the upcoming election.
Sadare declared, “The unanimous decision at the stakeholders meeting held today at our (Oke-Ado) State secretariat was that we would participate with a view to winning most of the available seats in the local government areas and local council development areas.”
Since OYSIEC has written to us about the extension of the deadline for the conduct of primary, which is now August 31, 2023, I can promise that “by the time we are done with our final round of consultation on or before Monday, we will roll out a schedule of activities.”
