President Muhammadu Buhari Media ChatPresident Muhammadu Buhari has urged Nigerians to have more trust in Nigerian doctors.

He stated this while speaking with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and other top government officials at the Presidential Villa on Friday, March 10, hours after his arrival from the United Kingdom.

“We have to trust our doctors more and trust ourselves more,” he said.

Buhari also advised the people not to indulge in self-medication.

“I think one of our terrible things is self-drug administration,” he noted, adding that “I can’t remember this drug that Nigerians take so much, very common.”

The President, who just returned from a medical vacation in London, said British people do not take drugs carelessly.

“Over there they only take drugs when it is absolutely necessary. They don’t just swallow everything,” he added.

He recalled the technological advancement in medical treatment in the UK, saying “I found out that technology is going so fast that if you have a lot of confidence you better keep it because you need it.

“Blood transfusions, going to the laboratories, and so on and so forth, but I am very pleased that we, when I say we I mean the government and the people all over are trying to keep with technology,” he added.

Buhari arrived the country at exactly 7:41 a.m on Friday after spending 49 days in London.
