Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila has voiced out for proper regulatory framework to guide the use of cryptocurrency in Nigeria.
Femi disclosed this in Abuja when the management team of Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), led by the Managing Director, Mr Umaru Ibrahim, paid him a visit.
He said it was compulsory for this to be done since “entire world is exploring ways of mainstreaming cryptocurrencies into the global financial landscape.”
His words, “The NDIC and other safety-net participants in the country must not be left behind in the adoption of appropriate regulatory framework to deal with the prevalence of cryptocurrencies in the global financial space.”
He also hailed NDIC team for the visit, saying it was the right step towards initiating a good relationship between the legislative and executive arms of government.
